Really enjoyed Haus Der Musik - a real effort has been made to entertain all ages with interactive displays, hands-on exhibits as well as interesting details about composers and Vienna's history. Lots of families were visiting on the day we went and the children seemed to be having a great day.

You'll find the Haus der Musik located in the Innere Stadt just a few blocks southeast of the Hofburg Palace complex. It's open every day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is 17 euros (about $18) for adults and 7 euros (about $7.50) for children younger than 12. Children 2 and younger explore for free.
How long does it take to visit House of Music Vienna?
I especially liked the approach of combining knowledge and fun. It's also great that you can stay all day, so you can go out in between, take a lunch break, and then come back. We spent more than two hours in the House of Music and would surely have stayed even longer if we had not had another date for the day.
