Sono Beach

Praia do Sono is a wild, car-free beach near Paraty, reached by a rainforest trail or boat. Swim in clear water, eat at simple shacks, and hike to Antigos and Antiguinhos. Bring cash and expect limited signal.

Paraty Bay Beaches Although it's better known as a historical retreat than a beach getaway, Paraty is in fact a serious hotspot for beach lovers. The town is surrounded by around 200 beaches some of them mere spits of sand, others stretching for miles, and most of them are gloriously quiet.

Exploring Paraty The town is known for its delicious local cuisine, and is also one of the principal 'cachaça' (sugar cane spirit) distilling areas of Brazil, so do make sure you try some! Paraty is surrounded by rugged beaches and many offshore islands which can be reached by boat.
