Tsarevets Fortress

This is the most impressive and preserved fortress in Bulgaria. It is worth visiting because the place is very well maintained and is great for a walk.

One of Bulgaria's most beloved heritage sites, Tsarevets Castle in the city of Veliko Tarnovo is a reconstructed medieval fortress complex and was the centre of the Second Bulgarian Empire, which ruled the region from the 12th to 14th centuries AD.

The castle complex is located in the centre, surrounded by an internal stone wall, two battle towers and two entrances - north and south. It consists of a throne hall, a castle church and the king's chamber.

1 to 3 hours attraction. In one hour you get an idea of the place but if you have more time you can easily spent there around 3 hours, enjoy the view, have a coffee, etc .
