We advise do not travel to areas within 50 kilometres of the Cambodia-Thailand border in the provinces of Banteay Meanchey, Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Battambang, Pailin, Pursat and Koh Kong due to the risk of armed conflict between Cambodian and Thai forces.

Battambang is most famous for the legendary bamboo train. Goods were once transported along these railway lines – today the adventurous ride on the bamboo train is the most famous tourist attraction in Battambang.

History. The 11th century temple was built by King Udayadityavarman II (Khmer: ឧតយាទិត្យវរ្ម័ន២ ) son of King Suryavarman I (Khmer: សូរ្យវរ្ម័នទី១ ) and despite some looting it is in a considerably better state of repair than Wat Ek Phnom. It was built to give thanks, ask for help, and pray to God.
