Silver Pagoda (Wat Preah Keo)

This temple is also called Preah Vihear Preah Keo Morakot after the enerald-colored statue of the Buddhist honored at the central altar. This temple is called Wat Prak (the Silver Pagods) by foreign tourists as the entirety of the floor is covered with 5329 pieces of silver tile. Altogether, the tablets weigh 1,125 kg.

Open daily from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Entrance fee US$ 3 per person. Camera fee US$2.

Criterion (i): Preah Vihear is an outstanding masterpiece of Khmer architecture. It is very 'pure' both in plan and in the detail of its decoration. Authenticity, in terms of the way the buildings and their materials express well the values of the property, has been established.
