Calgary Zoo

The Calgary Zoo is the second largest zoo in Canada with more than 1,000 animals from all over the world. Explore strange and wonderful creatures in exotic habitats from Africa to the Arctic. Stroll through butterfly gardens and tropical foliage. And step back to the land before time in Prehistoric Park.

I think the Calgary Zoo is excellent. Plan on 3 hours to see everything without rushing. If you enjoy zoos, then it is worth a visit for sure. A wide variety of animals, including animals from Canada's North.

The Calgary Zoo is open from 9-5 every day except 2 days a year (Christmas and Zoogala) and is a surprisingly nice place to go in the winter. It's way less crowded and there's still a lot to see. It also has quite of lot of indoor exhibits so you don't have to stay out in the cold the whole time.
