Whistler Train Wreck

Whistler Train Wreck via Sea to Sky and Train Wreck Trails is considered an easy hike that covers 1.6 mi, with an elevation gain of 180 ft. It takes about 0.5–1 hr to complete. Easy trails are typically short, with clearly marked paths and fairly level terrain.

Train Wreck is one of Whistler's most unique spots—a handful of mangled railway boxcars scattered like Yahtzee dice among towering cedar and fir trees lining the mighty Cheakamus River. It's a free public art gallery, a bike playground, a one-time horror movie setting and a hiking destination.

One of my favourite walks in the Whistler area and free activities to do is the Train Wreck Trail. Many people call this the "Train Wreck Hike" but it's really just an easy walk in. It's also easy enough to push a stroller in if needed.

To get to the Whistler Train Wreck, follow the trail at the side of Jane Lakes Road past the Sea To Sky Trail sign and into the forest. The majority of the trail to the Whistler Train Wreck site is easy, with a very short steep downhill near the suspension bridge but easy enough for all ages.
