El Tatio Geysers

El Tatio is the 3rd largest geyser in the world and the largest geyser in South America. It's more active in winter than in summer. If you've visited the largest geyser in the world, Yellowstone, than you won't be very impressed with El Tatio. When we arrived at sunrise, the geysers were very active.

The Tatio Geysers reveal the volcanic energy of the Andes at more than 4,300 meters above sea level. This geothermal field, the third largest in the world, will amaze you at sunrise, when the extreme cold enhances the columns of steam that gush powerfully from the subsoil.

The temperature in tatio Geysers oscillates between day and night time, and the summer rain is more frequent with a high media of 3 milimeters. The high media temperature is 24,5ºC and the lowest is 2ºC below zero.
