The Huaisheng Mosque, also known as the Great Mosque of Guangzhou, is in the city of Guangzhou, China (“Huaisheng”). Manuscripts describe the mosque being built in the year 627 by Abi Waqqas, uncle of the Prophet Muhammad, where it was later rebuilt in 1350 by the Yuan dynasty under rule of Zhizheng (Hagras 68).
