Queen Emma Bridge

Built in 1888, Queen Emma aka Swinging Old Lady Bridge is a pedestrian-only bridge that swings open sideways to allow ships to pass. It connects Punda & Otrabanda districts of Willemstad, Curaçao.

The main cruise terminal in Willemstad, the Mega Pier, is located in the Otrobanda district, directly adjacent to the city's historic center. It is a very short walk, approximately 5-10 minutes, to the famous Queen Emma Bridge, which connects to the Punda neighborhood.

Curaçao. The Queen Emma Bridge is a floating pontoon bridge that connects the waterfronts of Willemstad's historic neighborhoods Punda and Otrobanda. Nicknamed the “Swinging Old Lady,” the Queen Emma Bridge was built in 1888 and has upwards of 15,000 people walking across it every day.
