Is Tikal National Park free?

Tickets and Opening Hours Tikal National Park is open daily for visits from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Adult tickets for foreigners cost 150 GTQ (about $20 USD). Children under 12 can enter Tikal free of charge. Visiting Uaxactun costs an additional 50 GTQ.

Can you still climb Tikal?

Once a powerful hub of the Maya civilization, Tikal thrived between 200–900 AD, with towering temples, bustling plazas, and a population that may have reached up to 100,000 people. Today, you can still climb Temple IV and look out over a sea of green, just as Maya rulers once did.

Does Tikal have pyramids?

There are thousands of ancient structures at Tikal and only a fraction of these have been excavated, after decades of archaeological work. The most prominent surviving buildings include six very large pyramids, labelled Temples I – VI, each of which support a temple structure on their summits.
