Komezuka

📍Komezuka, offen referred to as the "Cutest Volcano in Japan" 💚🇯🇵 It is a volcanic cone in Aso City, Kumamoto Ken and is about 50 meters in height. A green grass field covers the surrounding area and the surface of it. It's quite of a view especially during spring and the summer.

Eruptions have repeatedly occurred throughout recorded history. The crater at Aso is indeed alive. Those people climbing the mountain must stay within the restricted areas and strive to remain safe and protect themselves. People with asthma, bronchitis, or heart problems should avoid the crater area.

Mount Unzen eruption of 1792, volcanic eruption of Mount Unzen, western Kyushu, Japan, that led to a destructive landslide and a tsunami. The death toll from the disaster is estimated at some 15,000 people, making it the most deadly volcanic eruption in Japan's history.

You can't climb it, but it's really impressive to see from the side. The perfectly round shape is so unique. The scenery around here is beautiful too, and it's great for photos. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area!
