Why was Wild Waters shut down?

Wild Waters struggled to compete with the larger, more elaborate parks in Orlando. As attendance dwindled and the slides aged, the state officially closed Wild Waters in 2016, citing declining visitor numbers and escalating maintenance costs. Demolition began in 2019. Today, nothing remains of Wild Waters.
