Yes, Puerto Costa Maya is worth visiting if you want a more relaxed and less crowded alternative to major Mexican Caribbean ports. It combines access to Mayan ruins, soft-sand beaches in Mahahual and laid-back beach clubs with snorkeling, nature tours and low-key shopping right near the pier.

Walking. The Costa Maya cruise port village is walkable with shops, dining, and a large pool area. However, Mahahual is not within comfortable walking distance for most guests. If you want a beach day or plan to explore the Malecón, choose a taxi, shuttle, trolley, or golf cart instead.
