Playa de los Muertos

Getting there is fairly easy. Walk along the Malecon, cross the pedestrian bridge over the Cuale River, and continue past Lazaro Cárdenas Park. Don't miss the view of the emblematic pier in the distance, with its sail over the sea and multicolored night lights.

Playa de Los Muertos: Walk to the south (left when facing the sea) around the curve of Sayulita bay past Villa Amor and follow the dirt road left up the hill, under the arch and through the cemetery. At the bottom of the hill, on the far side of the cemetery, turn right to Playa de Los Muertos.

Stick to well-lit streets and stay near the central plaza after dark. Use licensed taxis or official stands, and avoid unmarked vehicles. Use ATMs inside banks or supermarkets instead of standalone machines. Keep valuables secured and avoid leaving belongings unattended on the sand.

Access to the beach is free 24/7. You'll find Playa de los Muertos running along El Malecón.
