Royal Palace of Casablanca

You cannot visit Casablanca's Royal Palace. The building is currently one of the official residences of the Alawite royal family when the monarch visits the city, so the public is not allowed to enter. You can go near the entrance, with the huge esplanade that precedes the main entrance to the palace.

Its name, meaning “White House” in Spanish, refers to the white-washed buildings of the Old Medina. The Hassan II Mosque, with one of the world's tallest minarets, is a major landmark. Sitting on the Atlantic coast, Casablanca is also famous for its beaches and its seafront Corniche.

The 'Alawi dynasty (Arabic: سلالة العلويين الفيلاليين, romanized: sulālat al-ʿalawiyyīn al-fīlāliyyīn ) – also rendered in English as Alaouite, 'Alawid, or Alawite – is the current Moroccan royal family and reigning dynasty.
