Lake Dayet Sriji (Lake of Merzouga)

Merzouga, a small village in southeastern Morocco, is considered a very safe destination for travelers.

Why Visit Merzouga? The main attraction of Merzouga is its natural beauty and unique desert experience. Riding camels across the dunes, watching the sunrise or sunset, and spending a night under a sky full of stars are unforgettable experiences.

Of course, you can also rent a car and drive yourself. 4-wheel drive is not necessary as the road is paved all the way to Merzouga. This gives you the most flexibility in terms of stops on the road and arrival times, but it is also the most expensive option.

Two days is the ideal duration for most travelers. On the first day, you can arrive, explore the dunes, and enjoy the sunset. The second day gives you the chance to wake up early for a sunrise trek and explore nearby villages like Khamlia or the salt flats.
