Is the Ruakuri Cave worth it?
Less crowded and more bang for your buck than the Waitomo caves. I highly recommend you to do both Ruakuri and Waitomo Gloworms in your day visit. This was the most amazing experience.
What is the difference between Waitomo Caves and Ruakuri caves?
Ruakuri is different to Waitomo. Waitomo (the main one) has the appeal of a boat ride and glow worms with an easy walk. Ruakuri has a very cool entrance, a bit more walking than the main cave, a bit of interesting history, no boating (afaik), much bigger and a bit more grandiose.
