Ponta de São Lourenco

If you're visiting Madeira, don't skip São Lourenço 🌊 One of the most photogenic hikes we did on the island. You follow the ridge the entire way, with ocean on both sides and incredible cliff views. A nice way to mix things up from the levada walks and I'd definitely recommend visiting at sunrise.

PR 8 - Vereda da Ponta de São Lourenço is a trail of moderate difficulty, with an estimated duration of 2:30 hours, which goes along the peninsula with the same name.

Ponta de São Lourenço offers a unique and imposing scenery with panoramic views over the north and south sides of the island. This volcanic peninsula is nine kilometres long. It is followed by Desembarcadouro Islet (Metade or Cevada Islet) and Farol Islet (Ponta de São Lourenço or Fora Islet).
