Grassalkovich Palace opens to the public for a special occasion one day each year, generally around the middle of June. While the Changing of the Guard ceremony typically occurs once daily, it takes place hourly when the president is in residence. Dogs and bicycles are not permitted inside the Presidential Gardens.

This rococo summer palace was built in 1760 for the chairman of the Hungarian Royal Chamber and advisor to Empress Maria Theresa, Count Anton Grassalkovich. The sumptuous house was a sought-after venue for aristocratic society events. The palace is now the official residence of the President of the Slovak Republic.
Can you go inside the presidential palace?
After the French evacuated Vietnam in 1954, revolutionary leader Ho Chi Minh lived in these grounds until his death in 1969. Now used solely for official receptions and state events, the interior of the palace is off limits to the public.
