Pico Cão Grande

The first attempt to climb Pico Cão Grande was made in 1975 by a Portuguese team of climbers. However the first successful ascent was achieved in February 1991 by a Japanese team consisting of Yosuke Takahashi, Kenichi Moriyama, and Naotoshi Agata.

São Tomé is the capital and largest city of the Central African island country of São Tomé and Príncipe. Its name is Portuguese for "Saint Thomas".

Pico de São Tomé is the highest mountain in São Tomé and Príncipe at 2,024 m elevation. It lies just west of the centre of São Tomé Island, in the Parque Natural Obô de São Tomé and in the Lembá District. The second highest point, Pico de Ana Chaves, lies about 3 km to its south east.
