Church of the Divine Savior (Iglesia del Salvador)

The cathedral of Toledo is one of the three 13th-century High Gothic cathedrals in Spain and is considered, in the opinion of some authorities, to be the magnum opus of the Gothic style in Spain.

Toledo, like other Spanish cities such as Seville, has had for centuries the coexistence of the three Abrahamic religions: Christianity, Islam and Judaism. While it is true that some periods have been more peaceful than others, and relations between their citizens more or less open.

Etymology. After the Spanish conquest, the land was divided into the Province of San Salvador, the Spanish version of "Holy Saviour", a biblical title for Jesus.

The city of Toledo had eleven synagogues during its golden age. Today only two of the synagogues remain. Last week's SPY article touched upon the Ibn Shoshan Synagogue/Santa Maria le Blanca (1180).
