Gothenburg Opera House (Goteborgsoperan)

The Göteborg Opera is a wholly owned company within Region Västra Götaland, and was inaugurated in 1994. GöteborgsOperans Danskompani's roots trace all the way back to 1920, when the city's former opera venue Stora Teatern employed its first dancers.

Building and capacity With its stalls and balconies, it has 1,276 seats. The orchestra pit has room for about 100 musicians. The House is shared by opera, ballet, musicals and operettas so the architects had to meet a number of challenges.
