What is the fountain of Trajan?

The Fountain of Trajan was built in the second century to honor the Emperor Trajan. The fountain originally featured two ornamental pools and a large statue of Emperor Trajan. The round stone under his foot symbolized that the world was under his foot/under his control.

Is the Temple of Artemis worth visiting?

It is a beautiful and highly evocative place, especially if you have read about the fascinating Ephesus Artemis cult or seen the section devoted to it in the splendid Ephesus Museum. There is also a great view of the İsa Bey mosque, the Basilica of St John and Ayasuluk Fortress from here.

Is the Ephesus Museum worth it?

This was an amazing visit! The ticket was affordable, there was no crowd, and the items exhibited were well marked. I went primarily to see the Artemis of Ephesus statue, which was as amazing as I'd imagined. There are actually two, and I learned other new things about this historical period and the ruins of Ephesus.
