Fujairah Museum

Fujairah stands out as the only emirate on the UAE's east coast, giving it direct access to the Gulf of Oman. This unique location brings cooler sea breezes and makes Fujairah a prime spot for water-based activities like snorkeling, diving, and fishing.

History. The museum originated in 1969 with a single room displaying coins, farming tools, and weapons locals used. However, in 1991, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi decided to inaugurate the Department of Antiquities and Heritage. It took the responsibility of maintaining the Fujairah Museum.

Roughly half of the United Arab Emirates' daily oil exports are delivered through Fujairah, whose location on the Gulf of Oman allows the United Arab Emirates to bypass the geopolitically volatile Strait of Hormuz.
