What happened at the Jennie Wade House?

One such bullet, a Minié ball, passed through two doors and struck Jennie in the shoulder, penetrating her heart and finally coming to rest in her corset, ending her life at approximately 8:30AM on July 3rd,1863. Federal soldiers carried Jennie's body to the cellar—later they would bury her.

What were Jennie Wade's last words?

The Women's Relief Corps sends two flags each year for the grave. Jennie's last words had been, “ If there is anyone in this house that is to be killed today, I hope it is me, as George has that little baby.” Her utterance proved, sadly, prophetic. Jack Skelly succumbed to his wounds about two weeks after Jennie died.
