Tomb of Tu Duc (Lang Tu Duc)

Best for dreamers and romantics: Tu Duc Tomb It is the greenest and most organic of all the tombs. Tu Duc oversaw a dramatically weakened Vietnam as the French strengthened their colonial grip. Rather than engage in a losing battle, Tu Duc retreated into constructing and enjoying his own tomb.

The tomb complex is well worth a visit and the 3 out of five does not relate to the tomb that was a solid 4.5 and we enjoyed it and would recommend.

Tu Duc lived a life of imperial luxury and carnal excess, with 104 wives and countless concubines (though no offspring). The tomb is 5km south of Hue on Van Nien Hill in Duong Xuan Thuong village. From the entrance, a path leads to Luu Khiem Lake.

The Khai Dinh Tomb is considered the most elaborate and unique among Nguyen Dynasty tombs, combining Vietnamese, Hindu, Buddhist, and Western architectural elements. It marks the final imperial tomb construction of the Nguyen era, showcasing the transitional period of Vietnam's history in the early 20th century.
