Icy Strait in Alaska is home to many humpback whales, which are seen on every trip. This three-hour boat tour departs from Hoonah and is led by Captain Josh, a local small business owner. The tour takes place on a vessel built specifically for whale watching, designed to provide a stable and safe platform for viewing marine life. In addition to humpback whales, guests often see otters, Steller sea lions, orcas, brown bears, and other wildlife. Captain Josh personally guides the tour and uses a drone to capture aerial footage of the whales and surrounding wildlife. This is the only whale watching tour that includes integrated drone filming, offering unique perspectives. At the end of the trip, each group receives a USB drive containing the drone videos from the tour. Carbonated beverages and snacks are provided onboard. Gratuities are not included in the price.
