The tour starts at Amsterdam Centraal station, where participants take a ferry across the River IJ to Amsterdam North. From there, the route follows an old canal and passes through green parks into the Dutch polder landscape. Riders stop at the historic windmill d'Admiraal, one of five windmills in Amsterdam, to learn about its history. The ride continues through traditional villages such as Zunderdorp and Ransdorp. In summer, participants may climb the church tower in Ransdorp for views over the lowlands and see the old city hall. The return route follows the Nieuwendammerdijk dike, passing green wooden houses and former captains’ homes. Along the way, riders cross dikes, taste Dutch cheeses at a market, and may see large city pigs. The tour finishes with a ferry ride back to the city center. Participants should arrive 15 minutes early and be prepared for all weather conditions, as the tour runs rain or shine.
