This hiking tour lasts about six and a half hours and includes hotel pickup and drop-off at the meeting point. The walk begins in the La Fortuna Arenal Volcano Rain Forest Reserve, where the trail passes through dense rainforest featuring large trees and thick vines. Participants may see local wildlife during the hike. After exiting the forest, the path leads past a green lake and a memorial for victims of the 1968 eruption. The trail continues up a wall of lava rocks and through the lava fields beneath the volcano. At the highest point, hikers get a close view of the volcano’s cone and a full 360-degree panorama. The group then descends through more forested areas, which may offer further wildlife sightings. After the hike, the group stops for a typical lunch. The final part of the tour is a visit to a small hot spring resort where guests can relax for about one hour in natural hot water pools. The tour includes lunch and hotel pickup, but breakfast and hotel drop-off are not included.
