Overview

The Atherton Tableland region in North Queensland offers diverse landscapes including rainforests, waterfalls, and crater lakes. This full-day bus tour from Cairns lasts about 12 hours and visits several natural sites. The itinerary includes stops at Babinda Boulders, where guests walk through rainforest and can swim in clear mountain water. Then the group visits Josephine Falls, a three-tiered waterfall with a popular swimming hole. Lunch is served during the day and consists of two hot courses plus salads, desserts, fresh fruit, tea, and coffee. After lunch, the tour stops at Curtain Fig National Park where participants have the opportunity to swim behind a 30-meter waterfall. Lake Eacham, a volcanic crater lake more than 60 meters deep, is another stop where the geology is explained. Swimming is included at multiple points on the tour. Between April 1 and October 31, the guide attempts to spot platypuses. The bus has air conditioning and all park fees are included. Alcoholic drinks are not included but can be purchased separately.
