The Big Island of Hawaii features a 533-acre working ranch where visitors can drive side-by-side 4WD ATVs. This tour lasts about two and a half hours and allows riders to choose between 2-, 4-, and 6-seater vehicles. The route crosses the historic ahupuaʻa land division, showcasing 57 varieties of banana, dwarf coconut, exotic pears, pomegranate, taro, and other plants. When in season, riders can sample some of these island-grown fruits. The ranch is home to a herd of 200 birthing cows, plus wild horses, donkeys, sheep, turkeys, pigs, and various waterfowl. Participants can also fish from one of the 10 duck ponds on the property. The ride ends at the ocean where guests can pause and view the coastline. This tour includes driving your own ATV, learning about the culture and history of the island’s people and land, and tasting fruits grown on the ranch. Children under 7 are not allowed, and riders over 275 pounds cannot participate. Transportation to the ranch is not included.

Riders pass through a traditional ahupuaʻa land division stretching from mountain to ocean, encountering native plants and animals. The route includes gardens with dwarf coconuts, sugar cane, taro, sweet potato, and multiple varieties of bananas. The ATV ride continues alongside the historic Hamakua ditch and a spring-fed reservoir where cattle roam and horses swim. The tour heads mauka toward grasslands with panoramic views, then reaches the ocean for a break to view the Hamakua coastline. On clear days, riders can see the north cliffs of Waipio and even the island of Maui. Information on local history and culture is provided throughout the ride.
