Overview

This half-day small group tour lasts about three to four hours and covers Auckland's top spots with private transportation. Pickup is available from cruise ships and hotels in the central business district. Group size ranges from one to eleven people. The tour begins at Auckland Harbour Bridge, the city’s largest bridge connecting the Central City with the North Shore, and includes a visit to New Zealand’s largest yacht marina nearby. The next stop is Westhaven Marina, the largest yacht marina in the Southern Hemisphere, where visitors can view the city skyline. The tour then proceeds to Devonport, Auckland’s oldest town, featuring heritage houses and buildings, including one heritage house highlighted by the guide. After Devonport, the tour visits North Head Historic Reserve, a volcanic mountain at the entrance of Waitemata Harbour that was fortified in the late 1800s with tunnels and cannons for defense. Visitors have the opportunity to enter one of the tunnels and see the historic cannons. Next is Mount Eden, Auckland’s highest volcanic peak, offering panoramic views of the city from its summit. The tour continues to the Auckland Domain Wintergardens, a garden opened in 1913 that houses a large collection of chrysanthemums and rare plants. The final stop is Holy Trinity Cathedral, known as the only Pacific-Gothic cathedral in the world, located next to St. Mary’s, a rare wooden Gothic-style church. Note that the cathedral visit may not be included depending on the schedule and tour arrangements, and afternoon tours do not include this stop. The tour includes private transport, GST, in-vehicle air conditioning, fuel surcharges, and parking fees. Lunch and tips are not included.
