Upon arrival, participants pull their kayaks up at Rangitoto wharf and start a relaxed one-hour hike to the island’s summit. There, they pause to watch the sunset from a prime viewpoint. After the walk, the group returns by kayak in the dark, guided by a professional who points out the city lights shining like stars. The entire trip lasts about six and a half hours and includes all kayaking equipment, a fully catered BBQ dinner, tea, and coffee. The tour welcomes people with little kayaking experience and runs in small groups with experienced guides.
