Overview

This small-group bus tour lasts about 8 and a half hours and visits four wineries in the Barossa Valley wine region. The tour begins with a hotel or motel pickup in Adelaide at 8:30 AM and returns around 5 PM. The driver selects the four wineries visited from a list of about 40 local cellar doors. Wine tasting fees for standard tastings are included at all wineries. The first stop is Château Tanunda, established in 1890 and known for some of the region’s first vines and its bluestone winery building. Tastings here include celebrated wines such as the 150 Year Old Vines 1858 Field Blend and The Everest Shiraz. Next is Lamberts Estate, where the tour includes a one-course shared platter lunch featuring two signature dishes, along with wine tastings. The lunch menu offers eye fillet of beef with red wine jus, crispy skin chicken with chickpeas and sauce verde, garden leaf salad with citrus dressing, and roasted potatoes. After lunch, the tour visits two more wineries. One is a family-run boutique winery focusing on sustainably farmed wines that highlight Barossa flavors. The final stop is a vineyard in Vine Vale, where grapes are tended by hand and traditional Barossa varieties and blends are produced using cellar methods based on tradition. The vineyard soil consists of deep white sand over red clay, which contributes to the distinct character and balance of their wines. Air conditioning is available on the vehicle throughout the day. Premium wine tastings or upgrades are not included but may be available for an additional charge.
