Participants meet at a designated location for about 15 minutes before starting the ride. The bikes have pedal assist, throttle, and torque sensors to help riders navigate the park’s paved roads. The route includes stops at the 500-year-old Nahuku - Thurston Lava Tube for about 30 minutes and Kilauea Volcano, the world’s most active volcano, where riders spend another 30 minutes. The tour also visits the nearby city of Kilauea and other areas within Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with a total stop time of about one hour at various points. Water, the fat tire E-Bike, a helmet, and instructions on how to operate the bike are included. Entrance fees, gratuities, lessons on bike riding, hotel pick-up and drop-off, and optional rain jackets are not included.
