Overview

The tour begins at 7:30pm in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, where participants receive a safety briefing and instructions before boarding two-person kayaks. The 90-minute guided night kayaking trip leads through the mangrove forest of Laguna Grande, one of Puerto Rico's three bioluminescent bays. Guests paddle along the water as the sun sets, with a guide providing live commentary in English or Spanish about the local ecosystem. The tour offers the chance to see the glowing bioluminescent water, which depends on weather conditions. Participants must be able to swim, weigh no more than 250 pounds, and be at least six years old. The experience is wheelchair accessible with adaptations available for guests with special needs. Guests should come prepared to get wet from the waist down and bring a change of clothes, towel, and mosquito repellent if desired. Cameras are allowed only if stored in waterproof cases or bags. Jeans, sweats, and valuables that could get wet or lost are not recommended. Pregnant women are not permitted to join the kayaking portion of the tour. A waiver must be signed before participation.
