Overview

This tour includes a 3-hour live-guided bus tour of Budapest followed by a 1-hour Danube River cruise. The bus tour begins on the Pest side of the city, passing the Hungarian Parliament Building. It then crosses the Danube River via Margaret Bridge to reach the Castle District on the Buda side. There, participants take a short walk to visit the Fisherman's Bastion and see the exterior of Matthias Church, the Presidential Palace, and the Castle courts. After the walk, the bus crosses Elizabeth Bridge to Heroes' Square. On the return route to the EUrama office, the bus passes the Hungarian State Opera House and St. Stephen’s Basilica. The bus tour ends at the EUrama office in central Budapest. Following the bus tour, guests board a boat at Vigadó Square-MAHART dock 6 for a 1-hour river cruise along the Danube. Several departure times are available for the cruise. The entire experience lasts about four hours and includes a live guide, air-conditioned bus transportation, the castle walk, and the river cruise. Hotel pick-up, drop-off, food, and drinks are not included.

Heroes' Square

Heroes' Square features the Millennium Memorial, a major Budapest landmark. It displays statues of the Seven chieftains of the Magyars and other important Hungarian leaders. It also includes the Memorial Stone of Heroes, sometimes mistakenly called the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Fisherman's Bastion

The Fisherman's Bastion, located in Buda Castle's 1st district, is a Neo-Romanesque terrace complex. It stretches approximately 140 meters along the Danube, with a southern aisle of about 40 meters, a northern aisle of 65 meters, and a 35-meter central parapet. Seven stone towers represent the chieftains who founded Hungary in 895. The site offers panoramic views of Budapest.

Hungarian Parliament Building

The Hungarian Parliament Building is located on Kossuth Square on the Pest side of Budapest along the Danube. It is Hungary’s largest building, designed in neo-Gothic style by architect Imre Steindl, and opened in 1902. It serves as the seat of the National Assembly of Hungary and is a major city landmark.

Hungarian State Opera House - Magyar Allami Operahaz

The Hungarian State Opera House is a neo-Renaissance building on Andrássy Avenue in central Budapest. Designed by Miklós Ybl, construction began in 1875 and the venue opened in 1884. It was originally the Hungarian Royal Opera House and is today the second largest opera house in Budapest and Hungary.

Szent Istvan Bazilika

St. Stephen's Basilica is a Roman Catholic church in Budapest named after Hungary's first king, Stephen, whose right hand is preserved in a reliquary there. It was Hungary’s sixth largest church before 1920 and is currently the third largest church building in the country. It is part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Esztergom-Budapest.
