Overview

This full-day hiking tour focuses on Colombia’s tallest waterfalls, La Chorrera and El Chiflón. The day begins in Bogotá with a meeting at The Cranky Croc Hostel, followed by a traditional Colombian breakfast near the city center. After breakfast, private transportation takes the group through the Andean countryside toward the hiking area. The trek takes place at 2,600 meters altitude through a cloud forest where the guide shares information about native plants, wildlife, and the Muisca culture. Depending on trail conditions, the group visits El Chiflón waterfall first, a smaller cascade surrounded by forest, before continuing to La Chorrera. La Chorrera drops 590 meters down a cliff, making it the tallest waterfall in Colombia. Visitors have about 45 minutes at the waterfall to rest, take photos, and enjoy the natural environment. After the hike, the group stops at a countryside restaurant near El Chiflón for lunch. The tour then returns to Bogotá by van. The hike lasts roughly 8 to 9 hours in total and includes entrance fees, breakfast, lunch, a bilingual guide, private transport, and environmental and cultural interpretation. Bottled water, sunscreen, and hotel pickup or drop-off are not included.
