Overview

The six-hour Dubai Evening Heritage Safari takes guests from their hotel in a modern air-conditioned vehicle on a 50-minute drive to Al Marmoom Oasis, part of the Al Marmoom Desert Reserve, the largest unfenced desert area in the UAE. Upon arrival, participants transfer to a 1980s open-air Vintage G Class Mercedes for a 30 to 40-minute drive across the desert dunes. During this drive, there is a stop for photos and a guided narration about Dubai’s history and traditional Bedouin life. Desert wildlife may be seen along the way. The tour then reaches the Bedouin Village within the oasis, where guests are welcomed with gahwa (Arabic coffee) and sweets. A camel caravan ride of 10 to 12 minutes is offered and can be repeated if desired. Returning to the village, guests observe a live Arabic coffee-making demonstration and watch an Emirati woman prepare flatbreads and luqaimat, traditional sweets. The desert sunset is viewed from the village, followed by a five-course authentic Emirati dinner served from a set menu. After dinner, traditional Bedouin entertainment is presented. Guests then have the option to wear traditional Arabian clothing - Kandura for men and Abaya for women - which are provided and must be returned after use. A falconry display allows guests to pose with a falcon for photographs. When the camp lights are turned off, stargazing with a telescope concludes the evening. The tour finishes with a 45-minute return drive to the hotel in Dubai. Pickup and drop-off in a modern air-conditioned vehicle are included.
