Overview

Meet your guide at Piazza San Marco to begin a small-group walking tour through Florence’s historic center lasting about three hours. The tour starts with skip-the-line entry to the Accademia Gallery, where the guide presents Michelangelo’s David and other artworks. Next, the group moves to Piazza del Duomo to explore Cathedral Square. Afternoon tours include a guided visit inside the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore to view its frescoes and dome details. Morning tours see the Cathedral exterior, with tickets to enter on your own afterward. Depending on schedule, the tour visits either the Duomo Museum to see original sculptures and learn about artists like Michelangelo and Donatello, or the Baptistery to view its golden mosaics and the bronze “Gates of Paradise.” The walk continues to Piazza della Signoria, featuring Renaissance sculptures and Palazzo Vecchio, then passes the Uffizi Gallery while the guide shares stories about its Medici patrons. The tour ends at Ponte Vecchio, Florence’s oldest bridge lined with goldsmith shops. An optional self-guided climb of Giotto’s Bell Tower is available after the main tour. This climb is at your own pace and offers panoramic views of Florence’s skyline. The tour includes a licensed guide, pre-reserved tickets for all sites, headsets for better hearing, and a 3-hour walking route through the historic center. Transport to the meeting point is not included.
