Overview

This 5-hour walking tour of Florence includes skip-the-line timed tickets to the Accademia Gallery and the Uffizi Gallery, led by an expert local guide. The tour begins at the Accademia Gallery where participants spend about 75 minutes viewing Michelangelo’s David and other works by the artist. The guide explains the significance of David and highlights details often overlooked. Next is a 15-minute stop at the Baptistery of San Giovanni to see the bronze doors known as the “Gates of Paradise.” The tour continues with 15-minute visits to Piazza della Signoria, an open-air sculpture gallery, and the Ponte Vecchio bridge. Participants will also pass by the Mercato del Porcellino, where they will see the famous bronze boar statue believed to bring luck. The final stop is a 90-minute visit inside the Uffizi Gallery to view Renaissance paintings. Headsets are provided when needed to hear the guide clearly. Galleria dell'Accademia

The tour begins with skip-the-line tickets to the Accademia Gallery, home to Michelangelo's David. Participants spend about 75 minutes here. The guide explains what makes David special and points out other Michelangelo works that might otherwise be missed.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of your tour. Meet your guide with a green Walks sign in Piazza San Giovanni, by column of San Zanobi next to Baptistery of St. John. Piazza San Giovanni is a centrally located square in front of Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral and Baptistery of St. John.
