Passengers begin the tour by checking in at the office on Main Road in Franz Josef before transferring to the helicopter. The flight lasts about 35 minutes and includes flying over the Franz Josef Glacier and one other major glacier - either the Fox Glacier or the Tasman Glacier, depending on the pilot's choice. The tour continues into the Southern Alps where the helicopter lands on the snow for approximately 10 minutes, allowing time for photos. The entire experience, including the flight, snow landing, safety briefing, loading, unloading, and transport back to the office, takes around 80 minutes. A professional pilot operates the helicopter throughout the flight. Optional upgrades such as Comfort Seats and Front Seat or Executive Helicopter upgrades are available if requested at least 24 hours in advance. Guests should allow an additional 45 minutes beyond flight time for check-in and transfers. Safety equipment is provided if required.
