Lake Mapourika formed around 14,000 years ago as Franz Josef Glacier retreated and lies between the Southern Alps and the Tasman Sea. The tour includes a visit to a kiwi sanctuary within one of Westland’s oldest remaining rainforests. All kayaking equipment is provided, including dry bags, splash jackets, gloves, and hats during winter months. A local guide leads the group throughout the excursion. Private transportation is included, with courtesy pick-ups and drop-offs to and from the lake. High-quality photos of the trip are also supplied. Food and drinks are not included.
