Overview

The tour starts with a three-hour walk through Coyoacán, a neighborhood in Mexico City that was the first capital of New Spain until 1523 and where Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera lived. The walk covers about 3 kilometers and includes stops at three main locations. The first stop is Plaza de la Conchita, where visitors spend 30 minutes exploring the square, its church, and cobblestone paths. The second stop is Parque Frida Kahlo, a park shaded by large ahuehuete trees with sculptures, where visitors also spend 30 minutes. The third stop is Jardín Centenario, where visitors spend 30 minutes seeing a coyote sculpture and the historic San Juan Bautista Church. After these stops, there is a break at a colorful plaza to enjoy churros with atole. The tour then continues to Coyoacán Market for about one hour, where visitors can try tostadas and aguas frescas while exploring local stalls. Approximately three hours and 15 minutes after the tour begins, it ends at the Frida Kahlo Museum. Tickets for the museum are included, and visitors have about one hour for an independent visit to see Frida Kahlo’s paintings and personal items at their own pace. The entire experience lasts around four hours. An English-speaking guide with knowledge of Coyoacán and Frida Kahlo leads the walking portion of the tour. Comfortable shoes are recommended due to cobblestone streets. Assistance for mobility can be arranged if requested in advance.
