Overview

This full-day bus trip from Athens takes you to Delphi, the ancient center of Greek civilization located between two terraced rocks called the Fedriades. The small group departs from Platia Karaiskaki with an expert archaeologist trip attendant. At Delphi, you explore the archaeological site including the Oracle of Delphi, the Temple of Apollo, the Treasure of the Athenians, the Ancient Stadium, and the Theater of Delphi. You also have time to drink water from the sacred Castalia spring. Next, the group visits Delphi’s Archaeological Museum, which holds artifacts from the Archaic to Roman periods such as the Iniohos, the Sphinx of the Naxians, and the statue of Antinoos. After the museum visit, there is a break where you can enjoy homemade Greek food. On the return to Athens, the bus stops in the mountain village of Arachova, a well-known winter resort on the foothills of Mount Parnassus. You have about two hours to walk around and take in the village’s mountain views before returning to Athens at approximately 5:30 PM. The tour includes roundtrip transport on a modern air-conditioned bus, an audio guide app activated on the day of the tour, free onboard WiFi, and small-group travel for a more comfortable pace.
