Overview

The tour begins with pickup from Reykjavik city center at designated bus stops or hotels. It lasts between eight and ten hours and uses Super Jeep vehicles seating from one to sixteen passengers. The first stop is Þingvellir National Park, where visitors spend about thirty minutes walking through the rift valley formed by the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates and see the site of Iceland’s first parliament established in 930. Next, the tour continues for about thirty minutes at the Geysir geothermal area, observing hot springs, bubbling mud pools, and the Strokkur geyser erupting every few minutes. The group then travels to Gullfoss waterfall for another thirty-minute visit to watch the two-stage glacial river drop into a canyon with powerful water flow and frequent rainbows in the mist. After the Golden Circle sites, the tour proceeds to Langjökull glacier. There, participants take a guided snowmobile ride lasting about two hours across the glacier’s snowfields. Each snowmobile is shared by two people, and all necessary safety equipment is provided. The tour includes a professional guide, hotel pickup and drop-off at marked city center bus stops, the Super Jeep transfer, and the snowmobile tour. Food, drinks, and gratuities are not included. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and the minimum age is six years. Snowmobile drivers must present a valid driver’s license. Weather and road conditions may affect the itinerary and activities. Good outdoor clothing, waterproof shoes, and gloves are recommended.
