This wildlife-focused tour in Grand Teton National Park is scheduled for about four hours, traveling at dawn or dusk from Jackson Hole when animal activity is highest. The tour uses a small-group format with 10 to 12 people for a more personal visit. Depending on the season and weather, the operator provides transport in either an open-air safari vehicle from early June through mid-September or an enclosed, heated, and air-conditioned vehicle for the rest of the year. The guide shares information about the park’s geology, ecology, and history throughout the tour. Wildlife sightings can include grizzly and black bears, wolves, moose, bison, elk, eagles, bighorn sheep, foxes, and more. Frequent stops are made to view and photograph animals and scenic points. The itinerary includes a main drive through Grand Teton National Park where guests may see various mammals and birds. Between March and November, the tour stops at the Mormon Row Historic District to photograph the well-known barn, an original homesteader site. At the same time of year, the tour also stops at either the T.A. Moulton Barn or the John Moulton Barn, both historic barns in the area. These winter tours exclude the Mormon Row stops due to snow. Included are snacks, bottled water, soda, binoculars and a scope for wildlife viewing, and hotel pickup within approved areas of Jackson Hole from November through mid-May.
