Overview

This whitewater rafting small boat paddle-only adventure takes place on the Snake River in Jackson Hole. The trip covers eight miles of Class II and III rapids, including well-known rapids called Lunch Counter and Big Kahuna. Guests ride in 14-foot rafts without oar-frames, so all paddling is done by the guests themselves. This makes the boats lighter, faster, and more responsive. Participants sit close to the waterline, which increases the impact of every wave and rapid. The entire trip lasts about three and a half hours round-trip. Groups are limited to a maximum of eight people to ensure active participation from everyone. A professional guide accompanies the group throughout the trip. Transportation to and from the river is included, along with Coast Guard-approved Type V life jackets and splash jackets to protect against water and wind. Wetsuits, river shoes, and cameras are not included but are available for rent at the outfitter's office. Guests aged 16 and older must pay a Bridger-Teton National Forest Service fee of three dollars at check-in. The trip runs rain or shine, but guests should wear quick-drying synthetic clothing and secure shoes such as sport sandals with heel straps, old sneakers, or water shoes. Cotton, denim, hoodies, flip-flops, Crocs, or bare feet are not allowed. The trip requires physical effort and is not recommended for pregnant guests or those with serious heart or back conditions. Guests must arrive at the outfitter’s office at 180 Powderhorn Lane at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time to avoid missing the trip due to a strict schedule.
