Overview

This private bus tour lasts about eight to nine hours and covers three major sites in Beijing. You will be picked up and dropped off at your downtown hotel, airport, or train station by an English-speaking guide. The tour begins with a visit to Tian’anmen Square, the largest public square in the world, where you can walk around and take photos, including views of the Tian’anmen Rostrum and the large portrait of Mao. Next, enter the Forbidden City through the Meridian Gate. Spend one and a half to two hours exploring this extensive imperial palace complex located in Dongcheng District. The complex is surrounded by gardens and parks, including Zhongshan Park, Beihai Park, and Jingshan Park. Your guide will explain the history and architecture as you walk through the palace grounds. After the Forbidden City, the vehicle drives about one hour to a local Chinese restaurant near the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall for lunch. You can choose dishes on the spot within a set budget. Following lunch, it’s a 30-minute drive to the Mutianyu Wall, a less crowded area of the Great Wall. You can take either the cable car or chairlift up to the wall and spend one to two hours walking along the ramparts and visiting several watchtowers. For the return, you have the option of taking a toboggan ride down or using the cable car again. The tour includes all entrance fees, roundtrip shuttle bus, roundtrip cable car or chairlift, lunch, and private transfers in an air-conditioned vehicle.
